[ A Country Bicycle Ride ]

Join us on Sunday August 5th in Middlefield for A Country Bicycle Ride! This is a leisurely afternoon ride that will take you around the scenic countryside from Middlefield to Roseboom and back. Water and snacks will be available at the Middlefield Historical Society starting point, and there will be an Ice cream social at the Roseboom Historical Society. A perfect cycling afternoon for all ages! Registration fee for the day is $5.00. Sponsored by the Town of Middlefield Historical Society, Town of Roseboom Historical Society, Cooperstown Bicycle Works and Cooperstown Natural Foods. [ Pedals for Progress ]

Cooperstown Bicycle Works will be collecting used bicycles for the Pedals for Progress program until August 1st. We will also take donations at the Country Bicycle Ride on Sunday August 5th (see the Events page for more info about that event). Any adult or child’s bike in repairable condition can be donated to this worthy cause. A donation of $10 is necessary to be applied to the cost of shipping the bicycles. Pedals for Progress works with persons in developing countries to create jobs and promote environmentally friendly transportation. For more information about this program, go to www.p4p.org

With all of the snow melted I am please to announce or new 2007 store hours for the spring and summer. Starting May 21 the Cooperstown Bicycle Works hours will be Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday 10:00am to 2:00pm and Sunday 10:00am to 1pm. The current store hours can be found on right hand side of this page. If you are unable to make it to the store during our regular hours please contact us and we will do our very best to make other arrangements with you. Thank you and happy cycling!
